Legal Assistance: The Southeast Louisiana Legal Services (SLLS) provides a continuum of legal services to protect the legal rights of seniors and to ensure that they experience the highest degree of self-determination. The purpose of legal assistance is to aid older adults in securing their rights, benefits, and entitlements. Older adults often need advance directives, wills, or protection from exploitation.
Legal/Advocacy services provided include: Community Legal Education, Outreach Intake, Direct Client Services, Law Reform Activities, Legal Advice, counseling and representation by an attorney or other person acting under the supervision of an attorney, and coordination with other legal service providers.
