YOUR TRUSTED RESOURCE FOR
AGING WELL IN NEW ORLEANS
WELCOME
A Letter from the Executive Director
We are proud to introduce our newly redesigned website—a central hub for information, resources, and services created to support older adults, caregivers, and families across our community.
At NOCOA, our mission is to enhance the quality of life for seniors in New Orleans. While we celebrate the strength and resilience of our aging population, we also recognize the challenges many face each day. Too many older adults in our city experience poverty, food insecurity, and limited access to nutritious meals. Additionally, New Orleans ranks among the highest in the nation for older adults living with complex health conditions, underscoring the importance of accessible care and support.
In recent years, our senior population has also declined due to factors such as the lasting impacts of COVID-19, rising living costs, and relocation trends that separate individuals from their communities. These realities make our work more critical than ever.
LOOKING AHEAD
As we move forward, we are committed to strengthening how we serve our community. This website is part of that commitment—designed to be a trusted resource that helps older adults navigate daily life while connecting them to essential programs, local senior centers, and supportive services.
Addressing the needs of older adults in New Orleans will require collaboration across government agencies, nonprofit partners, healthcare providers, and community leaders. Together, we can build a stronger, more supportive environment where seniors can live healthy, independent, and fulfilling lives.
Thank you for visiting, and for being part of this shared mission.
Howard L. Rodgers III
